Information we collect
- Account details: your email address, account identifier, sign-in information, and profile details supplied by a sign-in provider such as Google. We do not receive your Google password.
- Your family and photos: names you give pets and people, their species or type, uploaded reference photos, selected scenes, generated images, chosen finishes, and correction requests. Photographs may include faces, children, surroundings, or other personal details you choose to include.
- Purchases: portrait and order identifiers, payment status, currency, amounts, tax and refund information. Stripe handles payment details; our app does not store complete card numbers or security codes.
- Print quotes: the delivery name and address you enter to request a price and arrival estimate. We send this to our print provider for the quote even if you do not place an order. Print ordering is not currently enabled.
- Support: emails and information you send us about an order, a problem, or a privacy request.
- Site operations: broad page categories, anonymous visit and page-view events, portrait job status and timing, and email delivery status. Infrastructure providers may also process IP addresses, browser details and security logs to operate and protect the service.
How we use it
We use this information to sign you in, save reusable family profiles, create previews and purchased portraits, process payments and refunds, provide delivery quotes, send service emails, answer requests, prevent abuse, and understand how the studio performs. We do not use your photos to identify you in other images or to build a facial-recognition identity database.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performing our service agreement for accounts, portraits and orders; legitimate interests for proportionate security, support and service measurement; legal obligations for required records; and consent where required, including optional publicity. You can withdraw an optional consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
AI processing and service providers
Your selected reference images and relevant instructions are sent to OpenAI’s API to generate your portrait. OpenAI’s published policy says API data is not used to train its models by default; it may retain content for abuse monitoring or other permitted operational and legal purposes. We do not promise zero retention by providers. See OpenAI’s API data controls.
We also use Supabase for accounts, database and private image storage; Vercel for hosting; Inngest for background jobs; Stripe for payments; AgentMail for service email; and Gelato for print and shipping quotes. These providers process the information needed for their roles. Google handles Google sign-in when you choose it. Support requests may be handled with automation or an agent acting on our behalf.
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by these providers. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use the required contractual or other lawful safeguards. Contact us for information about a transfer affecting your data.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or in connection with a business transfer subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice obligations.
Your images are not a public gallery
Your account’s reference photos and generated portraits are stored privately and delivered through access-controlled links. Authorized personnel and service providers may access them when needed to operate the service, resolve a problem, or comply with law. We will ask permission before featuring your photos or portraits in public examples or marketing. Purchasing a portrait does not give us that permission.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use customer uploads to train our own AI models.
Cookies and simple site measurement
We use authentication cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in and operate the site. Payment and sign-in providers may use their own necessary security technologies.
Our basic analytics records anonymous browser loads and page views by broad page category. It does not store an analytics cookie, advertising identifier, IP address, account ID, full URL, query string or browser fingerprint in the analytics table. Reloads count as new visits; we do not identify unique visitors or link browsing history to your account. We skip these analytics events when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals. Operational records such as orders and generation jobs are still needed to provide the service. We currently use no advertising pixels.
Our typography loads from Google Fonts, which receives the network information necessary to serve those font files. You can manage cookies through your browser, although blocking authentication cookies may prevent sign-in.
How long we keep information
We keep saved profiles, reference images and portraits while your account uses the service so you can reuse photos and download purchases. We do not currently promise automatic deletion after a fixed number of days. You can remove a family profile and its reference uploads from Your family, or ask us to delete particular portraits or your account. Removing a profile does not by itself remove portraits already created from it or all historical job records.
When handling a verified deletion request, we remove or de-identify information no longer needed, including associated image storage, subject to legal, fraud-prevention, payment-dispute and recordkeeping requirements. Necessary transaction records may be retained for those purposes. Backups and providers’ operational records may persist until their normal retention periods expire; we will explain relevant exceptions when responding. Anonymous, non-identifying statistics may be retained.
Your choices and rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal information by emailing service@tailwaggery.com. Include the email used for your account and what you would like us to do. We may verify your control of the account before disclosing or deleting information. Do not send a password, payment-card number or identity document unless we explain a specific need and a safe way to provide it.
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent, appeal a decision, use an authorized agent, or complain to a privacy regulator. California rights can include knowing, deleting, correcting, and opting out of sale or sharing where the CCPA applies. EEA and UK residents may have rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR where applicable. We do not make eligibility decisions with legal or similarly significant effects through this portrait service.
We aim to respond within 30 days and will meet applicable legal deadlines, including any permitted extensions that we explain to you. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. If you disagree with our response, reply with “Privacy appeal” and we will review it. Our contact page includes request links.
Children and photographs of other people
Accounts and purchases are for adults aged 18 or older. The site is not directed to children under 13, and children should not create accounts or submit information themselves. An adult uploading another person’s image must have the necessary permission; a child’s image requires permission from their parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has submitted personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
Security and changes
We use access controls, private storage and encrypted connections to help protect information. No system can guarantee complete security. Please keep your sign-in account secure and contact us about suspected unauthorized use.
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update its date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required for material changes.
